Padma Nath Gohain Baruah Chatra Nivas (PNGBCN) organized a talk on ‘Scopes of Research and Opportunities in Abroad’, as a part of “Udyamita” (a Series of Talks on Career Counseling cum Motivation)

The wardens of Padma Nath Gohain Baruah Chatra Nivas (PNGBCN) of Dibrugarh University initiated a programme called “Udyamita” (a series of talks on Career Counseling cum Motivation) in the year 2023 for the hostel boarders to assist them in preparation for competitive and challenging career opportunities. As a part of this initiative on 30th October, 2024, the PNGBCN hostel boarders had the privilege of attending an insightful talk entitled as “Scopes of Research and Opportunities in Abroad,” delivered by Dr. Purbajyoti Phukan, Assistant Professor at Assam University, Silchar. Dr. Phukan, an esteemed scholar who has recently received Fulbright- Nehru Post Doctoral Research Fellowship to carry out his research work at California University, USA shared valuable knowledge and guidance on pursuing higher education and research in foreign universities.

The session began with an introduction to the various fields of study and research opportunities available in renowned institutions around the world. Throughout the talk, Dr. Phukan provided insights into the application process for international universities, including necessary qualifications, scholarship opportunities, and tips for building a strong academic profile. He discussed the importance of networking, internships, and research publications as important components of a competitive application.

The event was well-received, with attendees expressing enthusiasm and gratitude for the detailed insights and encouragement provided by Dr. Phukan. The session was anchored by Mr. Utpal Jyoti Borah and Mr. Hari Prashad Gohain and concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Sameer Rimal. The Wardens, Dr. Jitu Borah and Dr. Pranjit Kalita were present during the programme and acknowledged Dr. Phukan for the highly intuitive talk. The whole programme was executed by the four prefects in support of the boarders of PNGBCN hostel.
