5-days Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) at Dibrugarh University

The Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Dibrugarh University (EDC, DU) organized a 5-days Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) from October 4 till October 8, 2024 at the Indira Miri Conference Hall, Dibrugarh University. The people (Founder/Co-founder) behind 30 shortlisted proposals were invited to attend the EDP. The proposals were shortlisted from 135 participants who attended three Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) held at DHSK Commerce College, Dibrugarh; Naharkatiya College and Khowang College in the month of August 2024.

The EDP was inaugurated by Prof. Anjan Bhuyan from the Department of Business Administration, Tezpur University. Over the course of five days, various experts interacted with the participants to get the Business Plans for the proposals ready. The experts were Dr. Prakrit Saikia, Assistant Professor from The Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat; Mr. Pranab Kumar Sharma and Mr. Himanshu Barman from the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, Dr. Amrita Kashyap Chaliha from Chroma Biotech LLP, Dibrugarh; Mr. Pramesh Agarwal, Chartered Accountant from Dibrugarh; Mr. Jamshed Khan, Advocate at Dibrugarh Bar Association, Mr. Devajeet Das, Manager, Andrew Yule & Company Limited, Khowang Tea Estate; and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed from Numaligarh Refinery Limited. Dr. Himadri Barman, Centre Head, EDC, DU and Dr. Nayan Medhi, Deputy Centre Head, EDC, DU also took sessions with the participants. The sessions from the experts of IIE were held online. All the participants will be awarded certificated by IIE, Guwahati.

The Business Plans will be sent to IIE, Guwahati for potential funding of Rs. 5 lakhs under a North Eastern Council (NEC), Shillong funded project. These 30 Business Plans will be among 900 proposals which the IIE is expecting from 30 Entrepreneurship Development Centres (EDCs) located across the eight North Eastern states of India. All these EDCs including the EDC at Dibrugarh University were established under the same NEC-funded project. Out of the 900 proposals, 100 will be incubated and out of these, 50 incubated proposals will be given the grant of Rs. 5 lakhs each.
