Scientific Lecture on “Development of Seismological Research in India during past 100 years” organized by Department of Applied Geology

Department of Applied Geology, Dibrugarh University organized a scientific lecture on “Development of Seismological Research in India during past 100 years” on 29th May, 2024 at the Professor S.K. Dutta Memorial Conference Hall of the department. Dr. J.R. Kayal, Former Deputy Director General ( Head, Geophysics) Geological Survey of India delivered the lecture. Dr. Kayal did his M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, India in 1969 and PH.D (Seismology) from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 1983. He has 50 years of research experience in Exploration Geophysics and Earthquake Seismology and CSIR Emeritus Scientist in many research institute. Presently he is adjunct professor at NIT, Silchar. A large number of students and faculties attended the lecture. A good interaction between Dr. Kayal and students made it meaningful and beneficial.
