NSS PG Unit and NSS Cell, Dibrugarh University organized NSS Residential Zonal Camp 2024

National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell & NSS PG Unit Dibrugarh University organized three days Residential Zonal Camp 2024 on the theme of Leadership Development and Capacity Building for NSS volunteers from 16th Feb to 18th Feb 2024 at Dibrugarh University. The camp was supported by Viksit Bharat Cell, DU, Outreach and Inclusivity Cell, DU, & Entrepreneurship Development Center, DU. The inauguration was held at Bishnurabha hall on 16th Feb with gracious presence of Regional Director, NSS, Guwahati, Dean, Student affairs, DU, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, DU, the Chairperson, Viksit Bharat Cell, DU and Programme Officers of various NSS units.

A total 155 students participated in the camp from 45 college units of Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Choraideo and Sivasagar district of Assam. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Amar Upadhyaya and Dr. Pranjit Kalita, Programme Officers of NSS PG Unit, Dibrugarh University.

Two Eminent Speakers were present on the first day of the camp. Col. M.K. Sinha renown speaker talked on the topic “Your future your battle”. Moreover Prof. Kiran Seth delivered a lecture on “Indian Knowledge System”. Besides this, Dr. O. Jiten Singh, Dr. Himadri Barman, Dr. Manoj Dutta, Mr. Pransu Raj Kaushik acted as Resource Person in various sessions.

A series of sessions were conducted to empower the volunteers. Training of Disaster Management, Training on Civil Defense, Training on Mental health issues, Yoga practices, talk on role of youth in Vikshit Bharat, talk on youth and entrepreneurship, talk on HIV were some of the important activities of the camp.

A blood donation camp was also organized on the 2nd day of the camp with support of AMCH, Dibrugarh. Total 47 units of Bloods were donated by the volunteers. The volunteers also presented a beautiful cultural programme. The valedictory was conducted with presence of Prgramme coordinator of NSS Cell, DU.
