Athletes of Flourish Sports Academy an initiative of Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports, D.U. demonstrate stunning performance in the 45th All Assam Junior and Senior Inter District Athletic Championship 2024

Athletes of Flourish Sports Academy an Initiative of Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports Dibrugarh University showed the stunning performance and bagged 22 medals comprising 10 Gold (including Relay), 7 Silver (including relay) and 10 Bronze in the 45th All Assam Junior and Senior Inter District Athletic Championship 2024 held at North Lakhimpur College (Recently declared as University). The championship was organized by Assam Athletic Association in support of Lakhimpur Sports Association from 2nd to 4th February 2024. A total of 26 athletes of the academy participated in the championship representing Dibrugarh District. Out of them 22 athletes won the medals. In the U14 Girls category Jessica Borah bagged bronze medal in Triathlon (B), Aditi Sonowal bronze in Triathlon(C), and Spriha Borgohain bronze in Kid-Javelin, and in U14 boys’ category Bhargav Kanwar clinch the bronze in Kid-Javelin. In the U16 Girls category Ruhina Borguhain achieved gold medal in Shot-put and in U16 boys category Himanshu Das bagged silver medal in 600m race and Trinajit Sonowal got bronze medal shot-put. Shanayah Khan and Analisha Saikia grabbed the gold and bronze medal in the U18 girl’s shot-put and long jump respectively on the other hand Mayur Baeboruah and Satyaraj Das won the gold and silver medal in U18 boys’ Long jump and 110m hurdles respectively.  In the Under 20 girls’ category Rekhajyoti Gogoi won bronze and gold medal in the shot-put and Discus Throw and also won the gold medal in the 4x100m relay race competition. In U18 Boys Asthajit Konwar bagged gold medal in Triple Jump and  4x100m relay race, Amlan Dutta won silver medal in 400m hurdles and gold medal in 4×100 relay race and Roktim Sonowal also won the gold medal in 4×100 relay race.

In the senior women Mainu Dhanwar bagged gold in 400m race and 4×400 mtr Relay, silver medal in 4×100 m Relay and bronze medal in the 200m race. Marina Konwar, Rani Deori and Dipshikha Saikia bagged gold in 4×400 mtr Relay and silver medal in 4×100 m Relay race.  In men section Riki Hazarika won the bronze medal in 400m hurdles, Madurjya Saikia bagged silver medal in 100m and 200m race and gold in 4x100m relay and Mansh Gogoi won gold medal in 4x100m relay. Apart from them Bikhash Baruah, Pronab Gogoi (U14 boys), Nihar Gogoi, Kaylani Mili (U18), Plabon Gogoi (U18), Jayanta Sonowal and Rafid Sonowal (Senior) were participated in the championship. Dibrugarh District team was composed of 96 athletes. Dibrugarh District bagged the all-over champion title of the championship.
