Students’ Philosophical Forum of the Centre for Studies in Philosophy as a part of its Regular Multidisciplinary Talk Programme organized a Lecture on Economic Growth: What and Why Is It Important?on 3rd November, 2023 at the Aniruddhadev Bhawan of the University. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Pranjal Protim Buragohain, Associate Professor and HoD, Department of Economics, Dibrugarh University. In his talk, Dr. Buragohain emphasized the need of the study of Economics, analyzed the concept of economic growth and its impact on society in the context of developed, underdeveloped and developing countries. The lecture was followed by an interactive session where students raise questions on economics in general and economic growth as well as development in the context of today’s online dominated market in particular.
It is to be mentioned that Students’ Philosophical Forum of the Centre for Studies in Philosophy in order to enlarge the scope of study and understanding of the students, has been organizing Multidisciplinary Talk Programmes since 2013 by inviting Teachers from other Department and Centre for Studies of the University.
