On the 15th of September, 2023, the Lakshmi Prova Barman Biswas Memorial Conference Hall was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University Prof. Jiten Hazarika in the Department of Life Sciences. Late Lakshmi Prova Barman Biswas was an alumna of Dibrugarh University and a retired Associate Professor of Department of Chemistry, Sibsagar College. The hall has been developed from the financial assistance received from her husband Prof. S. P. Biswas, former faculty of the Department of Life Sciences, Dibrugarh University. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Registrar i/c Dr. P. Sonowal, all faculty members, employees and research scholars of the department. The Vice Chancellor felicitated Prof. S.P. Biswas and his family and also appreciated for their generous contributions towards the development of the conference hall.
