FIPI Energy Week 2023 organized by FIPI Dibrugarh University Student Chapter

The Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry Dibrugarh University Student Chapter organised FIPI Energy Week from 21^st-27^thAugust 2023 sponsored by Oil India Limited. The week commenced with the inaugural ceremony held at Indira Miri Conference Hall, Dibrugarh University on 21^stAugust 2023. Mr. Sanjay Verma, Executive Director, Eastern Asset, Oil India Limited attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest while Dr. Borkha Mech, Faculty Advisor of the chapter delivered the welcome address and Dr. (Mrs.) Subrata Borgohain Gogoi, Professor & Head, Department of Petroleum Technology and Dean, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Energy, Dibrugarh University delivered the inaugural address on the occasion. Prof. Dipak Chetia, Dean, Research and Development, Dibrugarh University also addressed the gathering on the occasion. This was followed by the Case Study Challenge Contest in hybrid mode which was judged by Mr. Mohit Raturi and Ms. Anupama Sharma, HSE Consultants in Oil and Gas Industry and the participants showcased their innovative solutions to major petroleum industry issues. The Quiz Competition was conducted by Mr. Pallav Kumar Das, President, Debate and Quiz Forum, Dibrugarh University wherein many participants from across the state deliberated their quizzing skills. A technical workshop on Landmark Software in collaboration with Halliburton was organised exclusively for the University students which was attended by Mr. Pranav Dubey, Consultant, Halliburton in online platform. The most highlighted event of the week, the National Conference themed as ‘Resilience and Adaptibility in Petroleum Industry’ was a grand success. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. (Mrs.) Subrata Borgohain Gogoi, Professor & Head, Department of Petroleum Technology and Dean, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Energy, Dibrugarh University which was followed by technical talks by Mr. Gautam Das, CGM (D), Head Asset-HSE, ONGC, Mr. Ashish Kumar, EE (Environment), ONGC and Santanu Medok, GM (P), ONGC on ‘HSE in Oil and Gas Industry’. The other session entitled ‘Innovation in Oil and Gas Industry’ was attended by Mr. Akhtar Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Chief Engineer (Reservoir), CoEES, Oil India Limited and Mr. Nitin Lahkar, Superintending Engineer (Reservoir), Oil India Limited as the guest speakers. The Paper Contest gave the student fraternity a platform to showcase their research and review work. The Model Presentation Contest for Undergraduate students and Science Exhibition Contest for school students was successfully conducted in collaboration with SPE DU SC led by Dr. Dhrubajyoti Neog with a large scale participation by the enthusiastic, innovative and young ignite minds. The Alumni Talk was delivered by our notable alumni Dr. (Mrs.) Kalpana Deka Kalita, Professor, Applied Geology and Nitin Lahkar from Oil India Limited. The event was ended with a cultural ceremony and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Sharahnan Puzari, President, FIPI Dibrugarh University Student Chapter with a collaborative effort by the students of the Department of Petroleum Technology, Petroleum Engineering and Department of Applied Geology.
