Field Study conducted by the Department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University at Khowang, Dibrugarh

A Field Study was conducted by the M.Sc. 4th semester students of Department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University on 16/05/2023 at Rangchali village, Khuwang, Dibrugarh. The said study was coordinated by Dr. D. Das and Dr. K. K. Mahanta, Assistant Professors of the Department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University. The primary objective of the study was to conduct a socio-economic household survey in the village and gather data for statistical analysis and accordingly a systematic survey was conducted in Rangchali village. Additionally, the students were given a tour of the Khowang Tea Estate Factory by Mr. Apurba Cutia, General Manager of the Tea Estate and Mr. Ashim Diganta Chaliha, Assistant Manager of the Tea Estate where they observed the tea production process. The students interacted with the workers and management to gain insights into the tea production industry and its impact on the local economy. After that, the students visited the historic Maidam of Dakharath Bahikhuwa Barphukan and Yule Heritage Bungalow, a prominent historical site in that region which was guided by some local youths who are also the members of the Ranghcali Maidam Development Committee lead by Mr. Simanta Gogoi and the Welfare Officer, Mr. Rabishankar Barua of the Tea Estate.
