PETROFEST 2022, the biggest Oil and Gas Extravaganza of Northeast India organized by SPE Dibrugarh University Student Chapter (Chapter no. 6112) from 24th-26th March, 2022 in the Dibrugarh University premises. The technocultural management festival was inaugurated by Prof. Nirode Baruah, Dean Student Affairs, DU in the gracious presence of Mr. Binayananda Bharali, GM (G&R), OIL, Mr. R N Satish Babu, GGM (Mechanical), ONGC, Mr. Reep Hazarika, MD, BCPL, Dr. Nirmal Senapati and Mr. Sanjay Baruah from Petrodrill Well Control School, Guwahati, Prof, Subrata Borgohain Gogoi, Head, Petroleum Technology, DU, Prof. Diganta Bhuyan, Head, Applied Geology, DU and Dr. Nayan Medhi, Head, Petroleum Engineering, DU. Dr. Borkha Mech, Faculty Advisor of the chapter welcomed the guests and participants to the three day extravaganza. The festival witnessed various competitions including Paper and Poster presentation, HOEC Case Study, Quiz (in collaboration with DU Debate and Quiz Forum), Log Interpretation, Extempore, Drilling Fluid Challenge, Mock Interview, Treasure Hunt, Photography, Article Writing, SPE TechTalks and a workshop on Data Science in Oil and Gas Industries. The megaevent was sponsored by OIL, ONGC, HOEC, BCPL, abowloftales, snevents, designer graphics and A&B associates. The winners were felicitated by Mr. Nayan Nilim, Chief Guest of the closing ceremony and the event ended with a cultural night with vote of thanks by Mr. Sharahnan Puzari, President, SPE DU SC. PETROFEST 2022 witnessed participation from UPES, PDEU, RGIPT, Barmer Engineering College, Presidency University and Dibrugarh University.
