Dibrugarh University Football Team has participated in the 69th Senior Inter-District Football Tournament 2021 organized by Assam Football Association and bagged the championship defeating Udalguri District in the final held on 25.10.2021 in its second appearance. The tournament was held in two phases i.e. zonal round and final round. Dibrugarh University became the Zonal Champion of Zone A (Dibrugarh Zone) held at Naharkatiya from 27th September 2021 to 5th October 2021. The final round of the tournament was held at Sonari from 19th to 25th October 2021. To win the title Dibrugarh University had to beat Tinsukia District, Dibrugarh District, Najira District, Morigaon District and Udalguri District in various rounds. Total 50 Teams participated in the entire tournament.
Mr. Sangsaon Saikia of Dibrugarh University won the title of Best Player of the Final Match.
