Online Workshop on “Offshore Drilling and Production Technologies”

The Department of Petroleum Technology feels privileged to announce successful completion of the Online Workshop on Offshore Drilling & Production Technologies from 12th to 18th November, 2020 sponsored by Dibrugarh University. The workshop commenced with the welcome note and inaugural address by Prof. Minati Das , Convenor of the workshop & HOD, Petroleum Technology and Dean, Earth Sciences and Energy which was followed by a keynote address by Mr. P.K. Borthakur, Former Director (Offshore), ONGC who gave an overview  entitled ‘Energy Outlook 2040’ describing the growth of energy demand and the relevant supplies by the industries. The inaugural session was also graced by Dr. R.K. Vij, Director, SPT, PDPU who described a detailed study on Offshore Field Development with a special emphasis on Neelam Reservoir. The inaugural session ended with a vote of thanks by the Dr. M.A. Choudhury, organizing secretary of the workshop. The technical sessions were graced and successfully conducted by seven eminent resource persons from ONGC, Mr. K.S. Pandey, ED-AM-MH Asset, Mumbai; Mr. Budhin Deori, Former ED; Mrs. Chaitali Dutta, Former GGM; Mr. Sanjay Parulkar, GM(Reservoir) & SSAM, Geleki; Mr.Santanu Medok, DGM (Production); Mr. Ajoy Lal Dutta, CE(P) & Mr. Hiranya Barman, EE(D). The workshop was finally concluded with the ending remarks by Dr. Borkha Mech, organising secretary of the workshop. Lastly, the organising committee express its sincere gratitude to Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Dibrugarh University for his consent to conduct the workshop and the University Administration and the department students for their all-round support to conduct the workshop in an online platform amidst the pandemic.
