One Week Online National Level Faculty Development Programme organized by Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University

The Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University has organized One Week National Level Online Faculty Development Programme on the theme Contemporary Issues in Business Studies from June 1, 2020. The progarmme was inaugurated by Prof. Ranjit Tamuli, the Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized upon the importance of Business studies and that too in this COVID 19 pandemic situation. He congratulated the organizers for selecting such an important theme for the Faculty Development Programme and he was hopeful that the deliberations by the various Resource Persons across the country in this FDP will be immensely beneficial for the participants. Earlier in the inaugural session, the coordinator of the Programme Prof. Pranjal Bezborah of Department of Commerce welcomed all the learned resource persons as well as the participants to this first ever online FDP organized by the Department of Commerce, D.U. There were One Hundred and Sixty Four participants (164) who have registered for this programme. The online FDP being marked by the virtual presence and deliberations by a galaxy of highly acclaimed academicians of the Country in the field of commerce and management as resource persons namely Dr. A. Chakrawal, Professor, Saurastra University, Dr. Navin Mathur, Former Professor, University of Rajasthan, Dr. Bhabatosh Banerjee, Former Professor, University of Calcutta, Dr. R.K. Bal, Former Professor, Utkal University, Dr. R.D. Sharma, Former Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu and Dr. A.P. Singh, Professor, Gauhati University. Eight topics have been discussed during the FDP in the broad area of Economics, Business Philosophy, Finance, Business Research, Marketing and Foreign Trade. The one week online National Level FDP drops it’s curtain on June 6, 2020 with a brief valedictory session after completion of the 12th Technical Session, where the participants have expressed their full satisfaction on the programme and especially the deliberations of the Resource Persons. It was informative, meaningful and beneficial, they added. In his concluding remark the Coordinator of the FDP has expressed his gratitude to all the resource persons for their excellent deliberations on various contemporary issues in Business studies and offered special thanks to all the participants for their active participation. The valedictory session came to an end with the formal vote of thanks being offered by Dr. Chimun Kumar Nath, Head of the Department of Commerce, D.U.
