Profile

Established in 2009 as a part of the Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering & Technology, nestled within Dibrugarh University, Assam, the department was created to offer a B.Tech degree, enrolling 72 students each year. In 2023, it expanded its offerings to include an M.Tech Programme in Thermal and Fluid Engineering, admitting 18 students per intake. The department also launched a PhD programme in 2022. Notably, both the B.Tech and M.Tech programmes hold approval from AICTE.

The mission of Mechanical Engineering department is to create best in class engineering graduates as per the needs of the corporate world along with the development of scientific temper for higher studies. The department is committed for the incorporation of effective teaching and learning methods, up gradation of knowledge and skills of faculties, initiation of state of the art research and promotion of relationship with industry to keep pace with changing world.
