Extension and Outreach Activities:

  •        Coordinated a series of events to observe the International Women’s Day 2023 from 1st March-8th March, 2023 as per the directives of University Grants Commission.

    ·       Coordinated the mass movement ‘One Billion Rising on 14 February 2023 organised by the UGC Centre for Womens Studies, Dibrugarh University in collaboration with Akam Foundation.

  • Coordination and assistance to every batch of students of the Centre for Women’s Studies in their performance in a skit titled ‘The Process of Making’. The skit focuses on how gender roles are created through the process of socialization. The skit is being performed by the students at a regular interval for gender sensitization and awareness programme.
  •  Conducted two online sessions for the students of various Departments and Centres for Studies of Dibrugarh University on 10 December 2022 to observe the last day of the Discrimination against Women Pakhwada as part of 16 days of activism in connection with International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, 2022. The topic of the session one was ‘Domestic Violence as Gender-based Violence’ and session two was ‘Female Genital Mutilation’.
  • Hosted an interactive session on 24 March 2022 with Mr. Harish Sadani, Co-founder of Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA), Mr. Nelson Deb, Founder of Bodhana NGO, and Mentees of MAVA. The session was later broadcasted by Gyanmalini, the community radio of Dibrugarh University.
  • Coordinated a two-day film festival on gender diversity and inclusion organised by the UGC Centre for Women’s Studies, Dibrugarh University in collaboration with the Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA) & Bodhana NGO on 24 and 25 March 2022 at the Aniruddhadeva Conference Hall, Dibrugarh University.
  • Coordinated a week-long online lecture series on various aspects of ‘Women and Health’ from 21- 26 September 2020 organised by the Centre for Women’s Studies, Dibrugarh University.
  • Conducted a number of sessions on ‘Gender Sensitization and Awareness Programme Against Sexual Harassment’ in various Departments and Centre for Studies of Dibrugarh University under the aegis of then Gender Sensitisation and Complaint Committee for Sexual Harassment (GSCCSH) of Dibrugarh University.
  •  Coordinated a one-day seminar titled Prevention and Abolition of the Practice of Witch Hunting on 25 February 2020 organised by the Centre for Womens Studies, Dibrugarh University, in collaboration with National Commission for Women (NCW).
  •  Coordinated the mass movement One Billion Rising on 14 February 2020 organised by the Centre for Womens Studies, Dibrugarh University and conducted interactive sessions with students and women from self help groups on gender based violence.
  •  Coordinated the public lecture on Womens Lives: Patriarchy, Gender, Masculinity on 14 October 2019 and a talk on Gender Sensitization on 15 October 2019 delivered by Kamla Bhasin, a renowned feminist activist, poet and author which was organised by the Centre for Womens Studies, Dibrugarh University.

  • Hosted an interactive session on 24 March 2022 with Mr. Harish Sadani, Co-founder of Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA), Mr. Nelson Deb, Founder of Bodhana NGO, and Mentees of MAVA. The session was later broadcasted by Gyanmalini, the community radio of Dibrugarh University.
  • Coordinated a two-day film festival on gender diversity and inclusion organised by the UGC Centre for Women’s Studies, Dibrugarh University in collaboration with the Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA) & Bodhana NGO on 24 and 25 March 2022 at the Aniruddhadeva Conference Hall, Dibrugarh University.
  • Coordinated a week-long online lecture series on various aspects of ‘Women and Health’ from 21- 26 September 2020 organised by the Centre for Women’s Studies, Dibrugarh University.
  • Conducted a number of sessions on ‘Gender Sensitization and Awareness Programme Against Sexual Harassment’ in various Departments and Centre for Studies of Dibrugarh University under the aegis of then Gender Sensitisation and Complaint Committee for Sexual Harassment (GSCCSH) of Dibrugarh University.
  •  Coordinated a one-day seminar titled Prevention and Abolition of the Practice of Witch Hunting on 25 February 2020 organised by the Centre for Womens Studies, Dibrugarh University, in collaboration with National Commission for Women (NCW).
  •  Coordinated the mass movement One Billion Rising on 14 February 2020 organised by the Centre for Womens Studies, Dibrugarh University and conducted interactive sessions with students and women from self help groups on gender based violence.
  •  Coordinated the public lecture on Womens Lives: Patriarchy, Gender, Masculinity on 14 October 2019 and a talk on Gender Sensitization on 15 October 2019 delivered by Kamla Bhasin, a renowned feminist activist, poet and author which was organised by the Centre for Womens Studies, Dibrugarh University.
  •  Conducted a programme for school students that focused on gender socialization, gender discrimination, and other basic concepts of gender at Bogibeel High School, Dibrugarh on 8 March 2019.
  • Conducted a poster cum signature campaign against ‘Gender Based Violence’ in the premises of Dibrugarh University on 8 March 2019.
  •  Conducted a Gender Sensitisation and Menstrual Health Awareness Programme on 16 December 2018 for tea garden women workers at the Staff Club, Mancotta Tea Garden, Dibrugarh.
  • Conducted a Gender Sensitisation and Menstrual Health Awareness Programme organized by the Centre for Women’s Studies, Dibrugarh University at the ‘Prerona Children’s Home, Dibrugarh’ on 12 December 2018.
  • Conducted a poster cum signature campaign on ‘Violence against Women’ on 15 May 2018.
  •   Participated and coordinated a programme organised in connection with International Women’s Day 2018 on 8 March 2018 organised by the Centre for Women’s Studies and DHSK College, Dibrugarh.
