Education:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree : B.Com in 1976
  2. Master’s Degree : M.A. in Sociology in 1979
  3. Ph.D.: Sociology in 1990

Professional Experience:

  1. Twenty five years of Teaching and Research Experience at University level
  2. More than 22 M.A. Dissertations and 600 Field Reports in both Regular and Distance courses had been successfully completed under my guidance and supervision since joining as the teacher of this University. Apart from these 55 students of 2nd semester course in Sociology are being taken to the supervised Field Work and given guidance and supervision in preparing their Field Reports every year since the introduction of Semester in 2002 and CBCS in 2011.
  3. 8 (Eight) M.Phil Scholars have completed their Dissertation and obtained degrees under my guidance and supervision till 2016.

Research Projects

  1. Project Report submitted as  coordinator in the UGC sponsored  “Area Study Project” under ‘Look East Policy” on “Tradition, Transition and Continuity among the Khamtis of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam” in 2008
  2. Project completed: An UGC sponsored Area Study Project on “Religion and Shared Tradition of the Khamtis of Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar” submitted in 2009.
  3. Completed a CSI Beneficiaries Evaluative Project as Principal Coordinator for ONGCL under Assam Asset, Nazira in 2009.
  4. Recently completed a joint CSR Project with the department of Economics for Oil India Ltd. to evaluated and identify the thrust areas for  upliftment in the neighboring villages of OIL Operational areas of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, 2012-13
  5. An UGC Area study Project completed on “Problems of the Aged in India and Bangladesh: A comparative Study” in 2012-13, The project  report of which will be submitted by sept. 2013.

  1. Project Completed in collaboration with Solidaridad is an international organization REC on ““Survey of Tea Garden Workers Welfare in Assam and Bengal” SREC/2014/109 in April, 2014.
