On 14th of March, 2023, Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University organized an Awareness Programme on Commodity Derivatives in association with Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) coordinated by Dr. Jutimala Bora, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University.
The Head of the Department, Prof. Seema S. Singha welcomed the house on behalf of the Department of Commerce and Prof Kumud Ch. Goswami, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management science, inaugurated the program.
This industry-academia program was attended by Faculty members of the Department, Research Scholars, and the students of M.com program. Prof Ashit Saha was the resource person for the first technical session where he spoke about the basic concepts of financial derivatives. Mr. Sanjib Gain, Senior manager, MCX was the resource person for the second technical session and he discussed the practical aspects of commodity derivative market. Mr. Gain appealed the students to study and understand the potentialities of the commodity market since they are the future investors. The technical sessions were followed by a question and answer round where the students participated actively. Dr Jutimala Bora offered the vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
