The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), DU organized Sensitization Programmes on UGC (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulation, 2015 on 06.12.2022 at 3.00 PM in Rang Ghar Auditorium for the Students of Dibrugarh University. The program started with a general welcome by Jitu Ranjan Chetia. The students were addressed by the Presiding Officer, ICC, Dr.(Mrs) Dipsikha Bora and member, Dr. Chandan Sarma to make the students aware of ICC and procedural activities of ICC. The invited Guest speaker, Dr. Nazrana Ahmed, Advocate, Dibrugarh was felicitated by the committee who delivered her talk on different provisions of the “Sexual Harassment of women employees (Prevention, prohibition, redressal) Act,2013. Dr. Ahmed lucidly addressed all queries posed during the interaction session conducted by the Committee members. Dr. Ahmed categorically commented on the importance of keeping sequential evidences particularly in case of digital harassment. The total number of students were 129 and female to male ratio was 1.05:1. The Program ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Jitu Ranjan Chetia. A poster exhibition was also conducted in the premises of the Auditorium by the students and teachers of the UGC Centre for Women Studies, Dibrugarh University.
