A Sensitization Programme on UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulation, 2015 for Employees of Dibrugarh University was organized by Internal Complaints Committee on 08/12/2022.The sensitization programme started with a general welcome by Dr. Jitu Ranjan Chetia and felicitation of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Dr. Jiten Hazarika. Welcome address was delivered by the Presiding Officer, Dr. (Mrs) Dipsikha Bora. .The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the audience with an insightful talk. The members of the Committee, Dr. Chandan Sarma and Dr. Aparajita Dutta highlighted about the different provisions of the regulation. .The interaction session was conducted by Dr. Aditi Boruah. The audience raised questions regarding the need of evidence to prove incidence of sexual harassment. The total number of participants was 57 with a female to male ratio of 1.85:1 . The program ended with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Kabita Bora.
Simultaneously, in the premises of the Rang Ghar Auditorium, a postering exhibition was conducted by the students, teachers and the Director, Dr. N. Akhter, UGC Centre for Women studies . The Ex-Director, Centre for Women studies, Dr. Daisy Bora Talukder also participated in the Program.
