Two Day National Seminar and Lecture Programme organized by Centre For Studies in Philosophy, Dibrugarh University

The Centre for Studies in Philosophy, Dibrugarh University with the sponsorship of ICPR, New Delhi celebrated World Philosophy Day and Indian Philosopher’s Day 2022 jointly by organizing a Two Day National Seminar on Understanding Knowledge from the perspective of Indian Philosophy and aLecture Programmer on the Relationship between Logic and Philosophy on 17th and 18th November, 2022.

The two-day programme was inaugurated by Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University. On Day-1 of the programme World Philosophy Day Lecture was delivered by Prof. S. Shyamkishore Singh, Former Professor, Manipur University, Imphal who in his deliberation emphasized the value of Logic as a way of doing Philosophy. In the same Session, the fourth issue of Jijňāsā, the philosophical theme specific handwritten magazine of the Students’ Philosophical Forum, Centre for Studies in Philosophy, Dibrugarh University was inaugurated. On the same day, the Keynote Speech of the Seminar was delivered by Dr. Anjana Chaliha, Former HoD, Department of Philosophy, and Rtd. Principal, J.B. College, Jorhat, Assam. In her Speech, Dr. Chaliha critically estimated the concept of knowledge found in Indian Philosophy emphasizing the Philosophy of the Vedas, Upanisads and the Schools.

There were Two Technical Sessions where Twenty Two (22) Participants presented their Research Papers who were Faculty Members, PhD Research Scholars and Students of various Colleges and Universities of North East India. In the First Technical Session eleven Participants presented their Research Papers and defended their research outcomes providing answer to the questions raised by the Participants and audiences. In the Second Technical Session too eleven numbers of participant presented and defended their research papers.

In the Valedictory session, the participants interacted with the Resource Persons and provided their feedback. The Two Day National Seminar was concluded with the distribution of Certificates to the Participants and with a resolution to publish a Proceeding of the selected Research Papers presented in the same.
