DU celebrates 76th Independence Day of the nation on 15 August, 2022 with pomp and gaiety. Professor Jiten Hazarika, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University hoisted the national flag in front of the Administrative Building. He took the ceremonial salute in the march past done by 4 platoons consisting of members from DU NCC Unit, Students from Centre for Physical Education and Sports , Students from DU Model School and Security Personnel of the University. A pledge-taking ceremony was also held as part of the programme where Dr. P. K. Kakoty, Registrar i/c , Dibrugarh University administered a pledge to the members present there to commit themselves to the service of the University and the Nation. The Deans, faculty members, officials, employees, students and people from the neighbouring villages participated in the independence day celebration.
During the programme, various sports skills were demonstrated by the students of the University and nearby schools.
