The department of Petroleum Technology, Dibrugarh University, organised an online 5-day AICTE-sponsored ATAL Academy Faculty Development Programme on “Management of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production Waste” from February 7th to February 11th, 2022, in which 118 participants from various technical institutes across the country applied and participated.
The central inauguration of the 18 ATAL Academy FDPs was held on February 7, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. The Chief Guest of the programme was Mr. Binod Choudhary, Senior Vice-President, Business and Geo Head, USA, and the Guest of Honour of the function was Prof. Rajive Kumar (Member Secretary, AICTE). The coordinators of different ATAL FDPs were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
In line with the central inauguration programme by AICTE, an inaugural ceremony was held in the Department of Petroleum Technology at Dibrugarh University, which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. L.K. Nath, of Dibrugarh University. The coordinator of the ATAL Academy FDP, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Neog, Assistant Professor, Department of Petroleum Technology, Dibrugarh University, delivered his vote of thanks to AICTE and the ATAL Academy for assisting technical institutions in the advancement of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship through training. Dr.Neog appreciated the resource people from OIL, ONGC, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), MNIT, Jaipur, IIT Guwahati, and North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Shillong, and the Department of Petroleum Technology, Dibrugarh University for their wholehearted support in organising the 5-day ATAL Academy FDP and for enhancing participants’ awareness of oil and gas exploration and production activities, operational constraints relating to the elimination of environmental footprints, and the risk of E&P operations.
