In view of the prevailing situation due to rise of COVID-19 cases, the nineteenth convocation of Dibrugarh University was held in virtual mode on 25th April, 2021 as a precautionary measure to avoid transmission of the pandemic. On behalf of His Excellency the Governor of Assam as well as the Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Professor L. K. Nath, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor(In charge) conferred the degrees to the eligible candidates in a simple function held on the occasion in the presence of the Deans of the University. Professor Gautam Barua, the Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Guwahati delivered the Convocation address as the Chief Guest through online mode. Noted Litterateur Padmashri Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi was conferred the Degree of D. Litt. , Honoris causa for his valuable contribution as a litterateur, Critic, Academician and Social Reformer.
The convocation programme was broadcasted through YouTube streaming at 11.30 a.m. on 25th April, 2021 for all the stakeholders and public.
