National Service Scheme (NSS) PG Unit Dibrugarh University organized its Special Camp 2021 with a theme “Sustainable University Campus” from 27th January to 31st January 2021. Total 60 volunteers of the unit participated in the special camp. The camp was designed and coordinated by Dr. Amar Upadhyaya, Programme Officer of the Unit. The inauguration ceremony was held on 27th January at Indira Miri Conference hall with presence of Dr. Devid Kardong, NSS Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, DU, Prof. Nitul Kumar Gogoi, Prof. Kalyan Bhuyan, Dr. Pranjal Buragohain and Dr. Amar Upadhyaya. A series of activities were conducted to empower the volunteers of the unit. Talk on Blood Donation, Yoga practices, Civil defense training, School visit, Creation of Fruit garden in the campus, Cleanliness drive in the DU HAT area, Survey on Waste Management were some of the important activities of the camp. The theme of the camp was chosen in the line of Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Dr. Adity Sharma, Professor, Pathology Department, Assam Medical College, Mr. Satya Changmai, Assistant Professor, DU, Mr. Prasanta Gogoi, from district administration were the resource persons in different events of the camp. The camp was ended with a certificate distribution ceremony on 31st January and the same was attended by Dr. Devid Kardong and Dr. Himadri Barman. Mr. Mrinal Gogoi was chosen as Best volunteer of the Special Camp. The Programme Officer, Dr. Amar Upadhyaya offered thanks to all members of University family for their support and guidance.
