Vigilance Awareness Week(27th October to 2nd November, 2020)

Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports observed “Vigilance Awareness Week” from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020. The program was a government initiative which was recommended by NCTE. The centre organized different events regarding the theme of the week “Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat” (Vigilant India, Prosperous India). A brief description about various programs is outlined below:

Day I (27th October):

Oath taking ceremony was observed among the students of the centre. Students took oath personally in different locations of the country.

Day II (28th October): Vigilance Awareness in Community:

An initiative was taken by students of the centre to spread the significance of vigilance awareness in their communities. Students made the people aware about vigilance by following COVID-19 safety protocols.

Day III (29th October): Poster Presentation:

An online poster presentation event was organized among the students of the centre. It was emphasized to make some slogans related to the theme by making posters. Many students actively participated in the event and showed some significant artwork on the basis of the theme.

Day IV (30th October): Special Lecture:

A special lecture session was organized on the topic Vigilance which was delivered by Dr. Rupam Saikia, Director, CDC and Chairperson, Centre for Juridical Studies, Dibrugarh University. The program was organized via Google Meet where all the students and the faculty members of the centre attended. Dr. Saikia enhanced the event with his valuable lecture which gave a discreet idea about vigilance from the perspective law. Mr. Satya Changmai, Assistant Professor  hosted the event.

Day V (31st October): Drawing Competition:

Online drawing competition took place on the day which was organized among the students of the centre.  Different pictures were seen with sincere effort by the students. The duration of the competition was 2 hours.

Day VI (1st November): Teacher-Student Meet:

A teacher-student meet was held on online mode via Google Meet. In the program, teachers and students expressed their views and experiences regarding vigilance awareness. Students became more cautious about different happenings witnessed now-a-days. Both teachers and students co-operated fully.

Day VII (2nd November): Webinar:

A webinar was organized among teachers and students of the centre. Mr. Ujjal Saikia, Assistant  Professor, Centre for Computer Science and Application graced the event as guest speaker on the topic “Use of websites/social media platforms for spreading vigilance awareness”. Mr. Saikia diligently interacted with all the attendees of the webinar. He gave a clear-cut knowledge about internet and its applications to spread vigilane awreness and make a vigilant India. The whole event was hosted by Mr. Satya Changmai, Assistant Professor.
