STUDENT SOLAR AMBASSADOR WORKSHOP AT DUIET

Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology under the guidance of the Director, Prof. P Bhattacharyya has organized THE STUDENT SOLAR AMBASSADOR WORKSHOP an Initiative of IIT BOMBAY under TEQIP III on 2nd October on occasion of Gandhi Jayanti & International Non- Violence Day. During this event a few Lecture Series on Solar Technology and its advancement in upcoming future, Hands-on Training of Solar Lamp Making to the student from different part of Assam and awareness session on the use of Renewable Energy were organized.
The inauguration session was started with the welcome address by Mr. Jagannath Patra, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Electronics and communication, DUIET and the coordinator of this event. Dr. (Mrs) Barsha Dutta Kakoti, Assistant Professor Engg Physics, Dr.(Mrs) Gitalee Sharma, Assistant Professor Engg Chemistry, and Dr. Hemarjit Singh, HOD of ECE Department of Dibrugarh University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the programme. Dr. (Mrs) Kakoti delivered a talk on the Photovoltaic Cell and Semiconductor Physics. Dr. (Mrs) Sharma talked on Organic and Inorganic Solar Cells while Mr. Singh delivered his lecture on the Importance of Renewable energy on this event. Third semester students of ECE Department Anup Sharma, Hemanga Borthakur, Darshan Kashyap, Prandeep Bora, Purab Hazarika, Abhilekh Kumar Das (Technical Assistant) assisted Mr. Patra to co-ordinate the entire event who was certified as a master trainer from IIT Bombay. The participants also pledged to Protect, Preserve and Nurture our environment for a gratifying present and green future. They also vowed to be compassionate, responsible global citizens to ensure peaceful co-existence of all living being on the earth.
