On behalf of Dibrugarh University, Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports and D.U. Sports Board organized “Fit India Movement” successfully on 29.08.2019 on the occasion of National Sports Day. In this context, Inter College Cross country competition, 1 k.m. walking Event have been organized. The live-telecast of launching of the “Fit India Movement” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also witnessed by the faculties including Dean, Faculty of Education, officers, employees and students of the University.
A Number of students from colleges, university departments along with faculty members, officers, employees participated in the walking event. Around 100 athletes from different colleges participated in the Cross country competition. Dean, students Affairs, Dibrugarh University inaugurated the Cross Country race and walking event. Former Directors of Sports, Dibrugarh University and sports organizers also participated in the event. The participants also pledged to keep and maintain the fitness and spread the awareness to common public. A friendly volleyball match was also played by the Physical Education Students and faculties.
