Centre for Management Studies observes 17th Foundation Day

The 17th Foundation Day of Centre for Management Studies was observed on February 3, 2019 in a solemn function held at the premises of the Centre in the presence of guests, teachers, students and staff. The programme started with the hoisting of the Centre’s flag by the Chairperson of the Centre, Prof. Kumud Chandra Goswami which was followed by the rendering of the CMS Theme Song by the students.

A cake was cut to mark the occasion followed by the formal meeting. The Chairperson in his speech thanked the University for giving him the responsibility to head the Centre and said that after assuming the office on November 20, 2018; he is trying his level best to nurture the Centre and carrying it forward. He solicited the help of all the stakeholders in carrying out his responsibilities. The founder Director of the Centre, Prof. Pranjal Bezborah and the former Chairperson of the Centre, Prof. Ajanta Borgohain Rajkonwar in their speeches recollected their association with the Centre and shared some memories. Prof. Bezborah said that it was a challenge to start the Centre but could be done with the help and support of all those involved with the Centre. Prof. Rajkonwar in a lighter vein said that she felt always young working with the young faculties of the Centre.

There were also speeches from the side of the Alumni and the Students. Mr. Abinash Gogoi of the BBA 2014 Batch spoke on behalf of the Alumni wherein he assured help to anyone interested in pursuing their own business. Mr. Shoumar Jyoti Gogoi of the MTTM 2017 Batch spoke on behalf of the students. There were also some solo song performances from the students which enthralled the audience. The performances were given by Ms. Shyamolima Das of the MBA (FT) 2018 Batch, Mr. Aditya Barbora of the MBA (FT) 2017 Batch and Mr. Rahul Saha of the MBA (FT) 2017 Batch. The foundation day programme ended with light refreshments. The programme was hosted by Ms. Pujya Tamuli of the MBA (FT) 2018 Batch.
